It's that time of year again when you have to figure out what costume to wear. Thankfully, there are a lot of costume shops that will give you great costume ideas. However, the problem with buying a costume is one, it can be expensive; two, there is no originality, no personal touch; and three, it's a waste of money because chances are this will be the first and last time you will be wearing it. Well then, why not create your own costume? It's more affordable and more personal. The trick is being creative. Here are some tips on how you can create costumes without breaking the bank. 1. Don't have any idea what to be for Halloween? Go to the library! It has a lot of resources and most importantly it's FREE!
2. Browse through all the social media sites or ask your friends what they will be for Halloween. Maybe you can even dress up as a group!
3. Pick out clothes that you already have to create your costume. Think outside the box!
4. If you don't already have clothes that can fit the costume you like, buy clothes that you can re-wear. Take this picture for example:
This green dress is perfect as a pirate's dress. Just add brown boots, and an eye patch and you should be all set!
5. Don't go over the top. Sometimes less is more.
6. Most importantly, have fun! Have a safe Halloween, everyone! Xoxo
